It says employers in the construction trades, and all other employers with four or more employees, must purchase workers comp coverage. Florida does not require non-construction employers with less than four employees to buy workers comp insurance but it does make them just as legally liable as everyone else. In other words, you don’t have to buy the insurance but you will have to pay for work related injuries, illnesses and such and so forth.
